The Proms in Campbell Park returns for 2015

Following the fantastic success of last year’s event, Milton Keynes City Orchestra has once again partnered with The Parks Trust for an evening full of classical favourites, as they present The Proms in Campbell Park 2015 on Friday 14th August at 8pm.

The open-air concert will be performed by MKCO, under the baton of its founder Hilary Davan Wetton. Taking to the stage alongside the orchestra will be internationally famous soprano, Janice Watson.

Originally a flautist, Janice began taking singing seriously at the instigation of the tenor Phillip Langridge and at the age of 23 won the Kathleen Ferrier Award and the Royal Overseas League launching her into the upper levels of the singing profession. Janice has also won a Grammy with two further nominations to her name.

Friends for a number of years, Janice and Hilary have a fantastic musical relationship, guaranteeing a brilliant performance on the stage.

Following the orchestra will be a spectacular fireworks display, providing families with a perfect end to the evening.

MKCO and The Parks Trust are extremely grateful for the support given by this year’s sponsors; Shoosmiths, P J Care, Natwest, Safesmart, Yamaha, CS2, Jackson Coles, Geoffrey Leaver and Handlesbanken. There is still space available for two further sponsors to guarantee the evening’s success.

With a footfall of over 3000 each year, The Proms in Campbell Park acts as the perfect opportunity for businesses to show their support for the orchestra, while treating clients and customers to a first class experience.

Over the years, business support and corporate hospitality have been an intrinsic part of the concert, with many businesses that have previously supported the concert signing up again due to the benefits and opportunities they received as a result.

Marian Livingstone, Chairman of Milton Keynes City Orchestra, said: “The Proms in Campbell Park is a great partnership success for us with The Parks Trust and it keeps getting better every year. We’re currently working on an exciting programme to bring everyone all their favourite classics and to ensure a wonderful musical evening.”

David Foster, Chief Executive at Parks Trust, said: “The Proms in Campbell Park is a special event for Milton Keynes and continues to grow in popularity each year. The event attracts thousands of people from across Milton Keynes and beyond and offers fantastic networking and sponsorship opportunities for the wider business community. We really value the support of local businesses and this event offers unique opportunities to impress clients and raise brand awareness whilst taking in the beautiful sounds of Milton Keynes City Orchestra in the stunning setting of the park.”
